Day 0:
- Begin your journey from Mumbai on the 12133 CSMT - MAJN Mangalore Express at 9:54 pm from CSMT.
Day 1:
- Arrive in Udupi by 1 pm.
- Enjoy a delicious South Indian thali for lunch and check in to the hotel.
- Freshen up and relax for a while.
- In the evening, visit Kapu Beach and its iconic lighthouse.
- Later, head to the Sri Krishna Mutt to experience its peaceful atmosphere and partake in the authentic Prasadam meal offered at the Mutt. (Guests may also choose to dine separately if they wish.)
Day 2:
• Start the day early with a delightful Udupi breakfast.
- Head to Kodi Bengare Beach, a beautiful delta where the river meets the sea.
- Continue on to the Kemmannu Hanging Bridge and enjoy kayaking in the serene backwaters surrounded by lush greenery.
- Have lunch, then proceed to St. Mary’s Island. Depart from Malpe Beach by boat to reach the island.
- Relax and enjoy the sunset on the island, with optional water sports available for those interested.
- Return to the hotel for dinner (options for vegetarian and seafood dishes).
Day 3:
• After breakfast, check out and travel towards Karkala, a historic town 40 km from Udupi, known as a Jainism center during the Maurya and Vijayanagara empires.
- Visit Kere Basadi, a beautiful Jain temple located in the middle of a lake, accessible by boat.
- Next, explore St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, a serene Catholic church known for its peaceful setting.
- Visit the renowned Chaturmukha Basadi, a symmetrical Jain temple.
- Then see the Gomateshwara statue, the second tallest statue of Bahubali, built in 1432 CE by the Santara dynasty.
- After Karkala, have lunch and proceed to Dharmasthala to visit the revered Sri Manjunatha Temple, a holy Shiva temple.
- Check in to the hotel, rest, then visit the temple in the evening, followed by a prasadam meal at the temple. (Guests may also choose to dine separately if they wish.)
Day 4:
• After checking out, travel to Subramanya, stopping for breakfast en route. The distance from Dharmasthala to Subramanya is 53 km, taking approximately 1.5 hours.
- Visit Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya, the lord of serpents.
- Proceed towards Mangalore, with lunch en route. The distance from Subramanya to Mangalore is 105 km, taking about 3 hours.
- Upon reaching Mangalore, stop by the Kambala ground to witness the traditional buffalo race, a thrilling and popular event in Coastal Karnataka.
- Check in to the hotel, and after dinner, attend the Bhootakola festival, a ritualistic dance and worship performance that involves possession by spirits or deities. After this cultural experience, return to the hotel late at night.
Day 5:
- After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Begin your return journey, but first, visit Pilikula Biological Park.
- Depart from Mangalore Central on the 12620 Matsyagandha Express at 2:20 pm. Overnight travel by train.
Day 6:
- Arrive back in Mumbai in the morning, concluding the journey with wonderful memories and a promise to meet again.
