About Matheran:
Situated on the western ghats of Maharashtra, Matheran is one of the smallest hill station in India. The meaning of ‘Matheran’ is forest on the forehead. This hill station was identified by Hugh Poyntz Malet in May 1850.

In this hill station, there are as many as 36-38 viewpoints such as Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Panorama Point (provides 360 degree view), Monkey Point, One Tree Hill Point and many more. There are few ways for Matheran trek which includes One Tree Hill, Vikatgad, Sunset Point, Garbett Point and camping places like Garbett Point, Charolette Lake, Sunrise Point.

Itinerary

Day 0: Saturday, 14th December 2019
Participants arriving at CST can meet the Team at 1:15 pm at the station OR participants can catch the train from their nearest railway station. We will be boarding 1:40 Karjat Fast Local.

Meet the Trikon team at Neral station near Matheran train ticket counter and catch the jeep for Dasturi.
04:15 pm – Reach Dasturi Naka, have Tea & evening snacks and leave for Sunset point
05:30 pm – Reach Sunset point and explore the view till the sun sets
06:30 pm – leave for Materan station
07:30 pm – Reach Matheran station and participants can go for shopping (optional)
09:00 pm – Have dinner (Veg/Non Veg) and rest at station with some games / stories

Day 1: Sunday, 15th December 2019
12:00 midnight – Leave for Sunrise point
02:30 am – Reach Sunrise point, set up tents and enjoy the winter (participants can have midnight food during bonfire) / can go asleep.
06:15 am – Good Morning… Trikoners.. Wake up and explore the view with the beautiful sunrise.
07:30 am – Windup and leave for Dasturi naka
08:15 am – Reach Dasturi naka and catch the cab for Neral.
09:00 am – Reach Neral, have morning Tea/Coffee and breakfast and catch the next train home.
